TW_Silo is a large deathmatch level designed for 8 to 12 players. This level began its life as a Capture the Flag level but this primary existence never materialized as programming was slow and The Wastes 1.4 never saw a release with any other game mode apart from deathmatch. So I scrapped that. I cut it back down to a deathmatch environment. The central point is the missile silo itself with twisting tunnels around this central area. |

My favorite part of this map is the sagging office area it's a pretty minor part of the overall level but I really like the detail I put into making this area looks like the weight of the earth above it was moments away from coming crashing down. |

I did start this level hoping to stick to a number of references I had of real missile silos but it ended up changing a lot, the linearity of the real things and the tight cramped spaces really wouldn't have made for a very enjoyable level. So instead I took some inspiration from the kind of missile silo you would expect from a James Bond Movie. Sky walkway and all :) |
